According to the leading website, Gyanendra will read out a brief press statement in which he is expected to explain his side of the story including his perspective on the unfolding events leading up to the abolishment of monarchy.

He will leave Narayanhiti palace in the evening after the press meeting and go to Nagarjuna Palace. The government has already permitted him to stay in the Nagarjuna for the time being.

The ex-royals have been provided with 50 Armed Police Force personnel and 25 Nepali Army personnel. They will shift to Nagarjuna palace.

Nagarjuna Palace, some eight km north-west from downtown Kathmandu, was formerly owned by Gyanendra in his capacity as king and nationalized by the government in August last year.

The first meeting of Constituent Assembly on May 28 had implemented republic and asked the ex-king to vacate Narayanhiti royal palace within 15 days.
