Kolkata : The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) Association Limited would get possession of the land allotted for constructing a new building in Rajarhat township by the end of July, said chairman of the exchange Udayan Bose here Tuesday.
Bose said: “We will get possession of the land by the end of July. We have not yet decided about who will carry out the construction process.”
CSE, which is celebrating its centenary anniversary, was incorporated as an association in 1908 and was registered as a Limited Liability Company June 7, 1923, under the Indian Companies Act 1913.
Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said: “To speed up the industrial development process in the state, we badly need the stock exchange to revive.”
State Commerce and Industry Minister Nirupam Sen said: “West Bengal is resurging as an industrially developed state. Revival of CSE is very important.”
Bhattacharjee Tuesday unveiled a book on CSE “Down Lyons Range” by Aditi Roy Ghatak.
