Govt. forms committee to survey madrasas needy of computers

New Delhi: In a meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Urdu Academy has formed a two-member team to survey madrasas desirous of getting computers from the government.

The two-member committee formed for this survey of needy madrasdas consists of Mufti Ataur Rahman Qasimi and Maulana Sajid Rasheedi. The vice-chairman of Delhi Urdu Academy Prof. Qamar Rais gave this information after the meeting.

The madrasas desirous of getting computers from the government will be surveyed and computers will be given to them through Urdu Academy. Prof. Qamar Rais said the meeting also approved other programs and projects of the Academy.

The issue of the Academy’s organ ‘Aiwan-e-Urdu’ was also raised in the meeting as the post of its editor has been vacant for a long time. Raising the issue of appointment of Urdu teachers, several members said none of these teachers have been appointed so far in spite of announcement to this effect.
