By Xinhua,
Islamabad : Two explosions were heard in the garrison city of Rawalpindi in Pakistan on Monday morning, local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported.
The blasts could also be heard in the capital Islamabad and police are trying to locate the sites of the explosions, said the report.
The Geo TV channel said that ambulances were seen moving to the army area in Rawalpindi.
However, DAWN NEWS quoted military sources as saying that all sensitive installations in Rawalpindi were safe and secure.
The windows of some buildings in parts of Rawalpindi were smashed in the blasts, according to TV channels reports.
Local media later reported that it could be some sonic boom instead of explosions. But the Pakistan Air Force sources said there were no aircraft across Rawalpindi when the blasts were heard.
