Pune : A chartered aircraft belonging to Karwar Aviation Ptv, a pilot training school at Baramati, near Pune, crashed into the Nira river Friday.
The accident took place at 11.55 a.m. near Mekhli Village in Phaltan Sub-district about 100 km from Pune.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Baramati Shrikant Parapka said: “The two trainee pilots were flying the aircraft at a low height. The aircraft hit an electrical cable of the Maharashtra State Electric Board (MSEB) causing it to crash in the nearby river.”
Both trainee pilots, Lokesh Parassya and Akansha Kashyap, escaped with minor injuries.
