Kabul : An attack on a military convoy in the Afghan province of Khost left the perpetrator and one victim dead and wounded five others, military sources reported on Saturday.
They specified the fatal victim was a minor while one soldier and four civilians traveling in the vehicle were hurt.
The police chief in Khost Province, Mohammad Ayud, pointed out that a suicide attacker launched his explosive-laden automobile against the soldiers.
This type of action is frequent in southern Afghanistan, where Taliban forces are reorganizing themselves against the NATO-led International Assistance Security Forces (ISAF).
About 160 suicide attacks occurred in 2001 while the death toll between civilians, rebels and soldiers has exceeded 8,000 since the beginning of the occupation of this central Asian country, noted the source.
