While Robin flaunted a beige shirt with a Rajasthani ‘Thagai’ art form print coupled with black trousers, Yuvraj enthralled the audience in an ethnic ivory sherwani and churidar.

“Since my entire collection was very Western with European silhouettes, I wanted to give the cricketers’ clothes a contrasting and ethnic flavour,” Rathore told IANS after the Saturday evening show sponsored by spirits maker Chivas.

Colours like black, white, orange and ivory were merged and layered to maintain a contemporary style with a hint of shimmer making for an evening feel.

Modern techno fabrics were combined with rich, hand-woven fabrics, luxury wool, Benares silks, velvets and satins, as well as exquisite brocades, to create elegant outfits that reflected an amalgamation of the East and the West.

For women, jackets – both long and short, kaftan tops, dresses with sequin work and coats teamed with slacks and well-fitted leather pants were showcased.

“I used the drape and kaftan look for the women’s range,” Rathore said.

In the men’s collection, he showcased an array of abstract shirts in black and white, brown and maroon, teamed with black and khaki trousers.

After a host of models had displayed the creations, Robin took a quick walk along the runway even as Yuvraj regaled the audience with his playful and mischievous demeanour on the ramp.
