“The Congress has no moral right to criticise the BJP on terrorism. It is the mother and father of terrorist growth in this country. Its short-sighted policies during its five decades of rule since Independence are responsible for this,” said Naidu.

Naidu cited examples to substantiate his allegation.

In the state of Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism and other problems arose as then home minister Sardar Patel was not given a free hand at the time of Independence, he said.

In Punjab, Bhindrawale – who led the terrorists – was a creation of the Congress. The party funded the Tamil separatist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam (LTTE), Naidu alleged.

“The Congress party is responsible for Naxalism in the country as it gave them political credibility,” he said.

The BJP leader warned the Congress not to bring up the issue of terrorism, as it will boomerang on them.

The Congress party has launched a tirade against the BJP, alleging that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government had a soft stand on terrorism that led to the attack on parliament, on Akshardham temple and other terror strikes in the country.

The Congress Tuesday called BJP leader L.K. Advani the weakest home minister ever.
