Patna : Eight-year-old Akash alias Appu, who was kidnapped for ransom last week from Delhi, was rescued by the police from Bihar’s Araria district early Thursday, a police official said.
Deputy superintendent of police Araria Jitendra Kumar said Akash, who was kidnapped from Delhi’s Okhla locality March 21, was rescued from Farbisganj in Araria district, about 350 km from the state capital here. Akash was kidnapped on his way to school.
Akash was rescued in a police raid following a tip off about the house where the kidnappers were keeping him. Two kidnappers were arrested.
The police have informed the family of Akash in Delhi about his rescue.
