Amreli (Gujarat) : Setting up an eco-friendly precedent for metros and cities to follow, Amreli town in Gujarat Thursday resolved not to use any petrol-run vehicles on Sundays.
Appreciating the resolve, Chief Minister Narendra Modi praised people of Amreli for their efforts to save energy.
“It surely will have salutary effect on economy with energy being saved and petroleum balance sheets turning healthy. It will also address challenges of global warming and earn carbon credits,” Modi said.
Amreli, about 300 km from Ahmedabad, played host to Gujarat’s 49th foundation day celebrations Thursday.
