Rabat : The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will take part in organizing the Seventh Arab Environment Forum being held on 3-8 May in Cairo, within the framework of cooperation with the Arab Union for Youth and Environment, an Arab League’s affiliated body, ISESCO said in a statement. The forum aims at reinforcing the role of young people in protecting and safeguarding the environment, promoting their participation in national, regional and international events to spread environmental concepts among young people, and educating the young generation on the preservation of natural resources.
The event will also seek to raise awareness of governmental bodies, civil society organizations and the general public about the hazards resulting from the different dangerous environmental practices and the depletion of natural resources. In addition, this forum will discuss major environmental issues such as desertification, water scarcity; food safety and sustainable development taking into account the rapid climate changes and globalization impact. Experts from the ministries in charge of youth and environment, as well as youth organizations from Arab states will take part in this forum. ISESCO will be represented by Dr. Mohamed Saaid Dayer, a science directorate expert.
