“We have asked Thackeray to explain the remarks he made at his rally in Shivaji Park Saturday,” senior police inspector Vilas Gurav told IANS.

During the rally to mark second anniversary of MNS, Raj Thackeray, the estranged nephew of Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray, had dared the state government to arrest him for speaking out against migtrants from north India settled in Mumbai and elsewhere in Maharashtra.

He targeted the north Indians by saying only Maharashtra Day should be celebrated in the state and he will not allow them to destroy the Maharshtrian culture.

The MNS has been campaigning against north Indian migrants since early February.
