Mumbai : Indian equities markets closed in the red Tuesday.
The 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, opened at 17,366.05 points and touched a high of 17,367.13 before closing at 17,230.18. It went up by 204.76 points or 1.17 percent from last Friday’s close. The markets had been closed Monday on account of Buddha Purnima.
The S&P Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange, which opened at 5,157.00 points, closed at 5,104.95. It went down by 52.55 points or 1.02 percent from its previous close.
