Jaipur : Sohail Tanvir became the first bowler to take 20 wickets in the Indian Premier league during Rajasthan Royals’ five-wicket victory against Mumbai Indians here Monday.
Tanvir has 21 wickets at 10.00 runs apiece.
# Tanvir (4/14) became the first bowler to take four wickets or more in an innings twice in the IPL. His 6 for 14 vs. Chennai at Jaipur on May 4 is the best of the tournament.
# Tanvir got his second Man of the Match award.
# Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar posted their third 70-plus partnership (71) for the first wicket in the IPL – their highest being 82 vs Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium on May 14.
# Jayasuriya, with his 38 off 37 balls, took his tally to 460 – the third best tally in the IPL, after Gautam Gambhir (523) and Shaun Marsh (478).
# Jayasuriya completed his 800 runs in Twenty20 – 803 at an average of 34.91, including one century and four fifties in 27 games.
