Indian judokas to train abroad for Olympics

New Delhi : Two Indian judokas who have qualified for the Beijing Olympics received a shot in their arm Saturday with the Judo Federation of India arranging for their overseas training programme in Uzebekistan.

Manipur’s Tombi Devi, who won a gold in the Commonwealth Judo Championship in Mauritius in January, will participate in 48kg category while Haryana’s Diviya, who won a bronze in the India Cup International Judo Championship in 2006, will compete in the 78kg category.

The duo will train under Olympic silver medallist Armen Bagdasarove.
