Dr Farooq to contest from Hazratbal constituency

Srinagar : Former Chief Minister and National Conference Patron as well as party’s Chief Ministerial candidate Dr. Farooq Abdullah will contest the upcoming assembly elections from the prestigious Hazratbal constituency, according to a list released by the party in Srinagar today.
With the release of this list, the party has given tickets to all its prominent leaders including Abdul Rahim Rather, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mehboob Beg, Mohammad Shafi Uri, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, Mohammad Akbar Ganai, Sakina Itoo who will contest the elections from Chari Sharief, Khanyar, Anantnag, Uri, Handwara, Langate, Dooru Shahabad, Anantnag, Noorabad.
The Parliamentary Party of the NC which met today under the chairmanship of party president Omar Abdullah attending party Patron Farooq Abdullah, General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmed also finalized the names of party’s candidates for Jammu.
Ajay K. Sadhotra will be the party’s candidate from Marh, Surjeet Singh Salathia from Vijaypur, Ajat Shatru Singh from Nagrota, T. S. Wazir from Gandhi Nagar, Chander Mohan Sharma from Jammu West, Babu Jag Jeevan Lal from Reasi, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo from Kishtwar, Mohd Aslam Goni (Advocate) from Bhadarwah, Dr. Chaman Lal from Ramban assembly segments.
The names of others candidates okayed by the party for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th phase of polls includes Kafeel-ur-Rehman for Karnah, Mir Saif ullah from Kupwara, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone from Kupwara, Ch. Mohammad Ramzan from Handwara, (Kupwara), Javaid Ahmad Dar from Rafiabad, Baramulla, Haji Mohd Ashraf Ganai from Sopore, Dr. Ghulam Qadir Bhat from Sangrama, Dr. S.M. Kamaal from Gulmarg, A.R. Shaheen from Pattan, Aga Syed Rohaullah from Budgam, Prof. A.M. Matoo from Beerwah, Tariq Mohi-ud-Din from Khansahib, Ali Mohammad Dar from Chadoora, Abdul Gani Malik from Gulab Garh, Gh Qadir Mughal from Gool, Sunil Verma from Udhampur, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat from Tral, Ghulam Nabi Mir from Pampore, Gh. Nabi Ratanpuri from Pulwama, Gh. Nabi Wani (Niloora) from Rajpora, Showkat Hussain Ganai from Wachhi (Shopian), Shabir Ahmad Kullay from Shopian, Ghulam Hyder Malik from Bani, (Kathua), D.S. The candidates who will contest the elections on the ticket of NC for the Phase VI includes Safdar Ali Khan from Kulgam, Abdul Majeed Bhat from Home Shalibug, Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah from Devsar, Gh. Nabi Bhat (Adgami) from Kokernag, Anantnag, Mohammad Syed Khan (Advocate) from Shangus, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri) from Bijbehara, Altaf Ahmad Kalu from Pahalgam, Abdul Karim Wani from Inderwal, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardi from Doda.
The candidates approved for the last phase of polls including party patron are Peer Afaq Ahmad for Zadibal, Mubarak Gul for Idgah, Shameema Firdous for Habakadal, Nasir Sogami for Amira Kadal, Irfan Ahmad Shah for Batamaloo in Srinagar, Som Nath Manyal for Samba, Pardeep Bali Jammu East, Yash Paul Bhagat for Bishnah, Romesh Motton for R. S. Pura, Naresh Choudhary for Suchetgarh, Satpaul Lakhotra for Raipur-Domana, Ram Swaroop Sharma for Akhnoor and Mohan Lal for Chamb in Jammu division. The party has already approved the names of its candidates for the first and second phase of polls including the name of Oman Abdullah who will contest the elections from Ganderbal constituency. (NAK)
