Ranchi : Two Maoist rebels were killed by a rival group in Jharkhand Saturday even and four guerrilas were arrested, the police said.
According to the police, the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), a small Maoist group, killed two rebels terming them as members of the Communist Party of India (CPI-Maoist) near the Misan roundabout under Balumath police station of Lathear district, around 160 km from here.
The TPC left a pamphlet claiming the responsibility for the killing, the police said.
In unrelated incidents, four Maoists have been arrested in Palamau and Gumla districts in the 24 hours to Saturday afternoon, they said.
Two rebels of the Jharkhand Prastuti Committee (JPC) were arrested from Palamau district and two guerrilas of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were nabbed from Gumla district.
The police have seized two revolvers and Maoist literature from them.
Six outlawed radical leftwing groups are active in the state, and the CPI-Maoist is the most prominent among them.
