England have already cut short the seven-match ODI series and are scheduled to fly back home Saturday morning.

To save the two-match Test series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to shift the final Test out of Mumbai.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has assured BCCI that the team would return for the Test series starting in Ahmedabad Dec 11.

“It’s very, very real and emotions are very high. It’s a sensitive time. The home environment is where the players should be for a few days. The Test matches are in place and, unless we get security advice to the contrary, they will be going ahead,” said ECB managing director Hugh Morris.

The Champions League T20, which was supposed to start Dec 3, has also been postponed.
