Ramallah : Two Palestinian young men were shot and wounded early on Saturday by Israeli troops’ gunfire nearthe northern West Bank city of Nablus, medics and eyewitnesses said.
Witnesses at al-Far’a refugee camp north of Nablus city said that an Israeli army force raided the Palestinian refugee camp on Saturday amid intensive gunfire, where two Palestinian young men were moderately injured.
They added that seven Israeli army jeeps stormed the refugee camp to look for wanted militants, members of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement. They said the Israeli army forces withdrew from the area without any arrests.
Medics at Rafidya Hospital in Nablus said that two young men were shot by live ammunition, adding that they are in moderate conditions and had received the proper medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Hamas security sources said that Israeli naval gunships opened fire at the fishing boats of the Palestinian fishermen in the sea of the Gaza Strip, causing no damages or injuries.
The sources said that the Israeli naval forces target the Palestinian fishermen’s boats almost everyday, by opening fire at them as soon as they approach the limited area in the shores of Gaza.
Egypt has brokered a truce between Israel and Gaza militant groups only in the Gaza Strip and for six months. The West Bank was excluded, while the truce came into effect on June 19.
After the truce, homemade rockets were rarely fired from Gaza at southern Israel. However, each time a rocket was fired at Israel, the latter was immediately closing Gaza border crossings points for several days.
