Srinagar : Twenty-five load carriers Tuesday crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, carrying goods from either side to the other.
“Eighteen local load carriers carrying apple consignments crossed the Kaman Bridge on the LoC and unloaded their consignments at Chakoti in Pakistan-administered Kashmir,” a senior official told IANS by telephone from Salamabad near the border town of Uri.
Seven load carriers carrying bananas, onions, pomegranates and garlic came from Chakoti to unload their consignments at Salamabad, he said.
While the trade convoy started from Salamabad trade facilitation centre at 2.30 p.m., the convoy from the other side reached Salamabad at 4.30 p.m.
The cross-LoC trade was started between two parts of the divided Kashmir Oct 21 when Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra flagged off the first trade convoy from Salamabad for Chakoti.
