Talking to the reporters he laid his plan for improvement in management of the waqf properties. He said that those mutawallis(care takers) help in increasing the revenue of the board will be rewarded.

Rizvi said his first action will be to ask mutwallis for a list of renters on all waqf properties. Rent will be appropriately increased to increase waqf income; a portion of the increase will be given to mutawallis as an incentive. Those mutwallis who do not cooperate with this new programme of waqf face action and may even be removed from their trusteeship.

For protection of waqf properties, he has proposed constituting committees in each district. The committee will consist of one aalim, one advocate, and three other members. This committee will give regular reports to the waqf boar on complaints and conditions of waqf properties in their district.

UP government has announced that it will give two crores rupees to the Shia Central Board of Wakf. Rizvi said this money will be used to pay back salary to waqf board employees.

Rizvi is associated with ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and was elected chairman on October 24th. This position was vacant for the last two years.
