Baghdad : Four people were killed and 15 others injured when two roadside bombs struck an Iraqi police patrol in Baghdad on Tuesday morning, an Interior Ministry source said.
A roadside bomb detonated near a police patrol close to the Kendi Hospital in Nahdha area in central Baghdad, killing a policeman and a civilian and wounding five others, including two policemen, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast also damaged two police vehicles, the source said.
In a separate incident, two people were killed and ten others injured in a roadside bomb explosion near another police patrol in an intersection in Baghdad’s western neighborhood of Harthiyah, the source added.
A policeman was among the people wounded by the blast, which also damaged a police vehicle and several nearby civilian cars, he said.
The attacks came as bomb and gunfire attacks continue in Baghdad and some other Iraqi cities despite a relative lull in violence in the past months.
