There were reports of missile attacks launched in Afghanistan or by unmanned aircraft in South Waziristan in the past.
Some lawmakers in the United States have threatened to send troops to Pakistan’s tribal area to fight militants who, according to some U.S. officials, could enter Afghanistan and attack NATO forces.
