Lucknow Islamic institution thanks UAE charity for support

Abu Dhabi : The head of India’s Islamic institution Nadwatul Ulama has thanked the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation for all help the latter has extended to the Lucknow-based institution over the years.

At a meeting here Wednesday between the Zayed Foudation’s director Slaim Obaid Al Dhaheri and Nadwatul Ulama’s visiting director general Saeed Al-A’zami Nadawi, both sides discussed ways to further promote cooperation in various areas and enhance the foundation’s support to the institution, the state-run Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

While thanking the foundation for its support, Nadawi, who is also the editor of the Al-baas-el-Islami magazine, invited officials of Zayed Foundation to visit the institution to get first-hand experience of its activities and officially open some new colleges.

Founded in 1992 and named after the UAE’s founding father, the Zayed Foundation has a diversified operational field and contributes to all types of charity in coordination with national and international organisations, in order to promote the presence of the UAE on all international charitable and humanitarian boards.

Nadwatul Ulama was founded in 1894 in Kanpur and is now based in the Uttar Pradesh capital. It draws a large number of Muslim students from all over India.
