Harbin : At least five colliers were killed early Saturday in a coal mine accident in Hegang city in northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, rescue officials said.
More than 30 miners were trapped in the privately owned mine after a fire broke out at around 4 a.m., when 44 miners were working underground.
About a dozen workers escaped to safety, rescuers said.
