Gaza : Palestinian National Authority (PNA)Ambassador in Cairo Nablil Amer said on Thursday that the Arabs would punish any Palestinian party which hinders an inter-Palestinian dialogue.
Amer told the Qatar-based satellite channel of al-Jazeera that the Arab League (AL) would isolate and impose sanctions on the Palestinian side which would hinder and block the success of the national dialogue.
“There will be a Palestinian and Arab court to evaluate the results of the national Palestinian comprehensive dialogue and will impose an isolation on the party that would reject the success of the dialogue,” said Amer.
Egypt has been holding separate bilateral talks in September with leaders of 12 Palestinian factions and political groups, including rival Fatah and Hamas.
Fatah loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to send its leaders to meet Egyptian mediators at the end of September and a Hamas delegation is due to visit Cairo on Oct. 8.
Egypt is examining the views of the factions to come out with an agreed-upon document to be signed in a comprehensive dialogue that expected to be held under an AL umbrella in early November.
The dialogue is aiming at ending the status quo of political split between Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip since its violent takeover of the coastal enclave last June, and Fatah, which consolidated its grip in the West Bank since then.
Egypt and the Palestinian factions plan to agree on establishing a new Palestinian government that unifies Gaza with the West Bank, and preparing for early legislative and presidential elections.
