After his two visits of the communal riots hit state, special secretary (Internal Security) M.L. Kumawat told reporters that he held meetings with the district collectors and superintendents of police of the concerned districts as well as with the state chief secretary and director general of police of Karnataka.

“(The) Karnataka government asked for three companies of RAF, which was agreed to,” Kumawat said.

He said the affected community in state was visibly upset and unhappy.

“They complained against the police. Visible patrolling, more preventive action and more peace meetings are required to keep such incidents under check,” he added.
