Kolkata : A West Bengal court Wednesday remanded three suspected Maoists, arrested with arms in West Midnapore district, to 12-day police remand, the police said.
“Acting on a tip-off, we arrested three Maoists – Bikash Mahat, Safikul and Ainul Shiekh – from Goaltor village early Wednesday. We recovered three pipe guns, four .315 rifles and 30 rounds of ammunitions,” Superintendent of Police Manoj Verma told IANS by phone.
“They were produced in the district court today (Wednesday). The court sent them to 12-day police custody,” Verma said.
He said some documents were recovered from the three arrested. “These documents clearly prove that all three were actively involved with the Maoists,” Verma said.
