Sushma Swaraj ‘101 percent’ sure of NDA getting majority

By IANS,

Raipur : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj, who faced flak for her recent statement that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) might not get a clear majority in the Lok Sabha polls, Saturday said she was “101 percent” confident that the group would get a clear majority.

“I am 101 percent sure that BJP will be the single largest party and the NDA will get a clear majority,” she told reporters here.

About her April 1 comment that the NDA might not get a majority, Swaraj said it was said in a “different context”.

“There was a controversy created about my reported recent statement given in Madhya Pradesh that the NDA might fall short of majority… it was said in a different context,” said Swaraj, who is in charge of party affairs in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

She mocked the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA), saying the grouping has now lost its existence as its key constituents have pulled out. She also observed that the Third Front “is yet to born actually”.
