The case filed by Ashutosh Ranjan Pandey, an advocate, charges Rabri Devi with having made the remarks at a poll rally in Saran district Saturday. Rabri Devi’s husband and Railways Minister Lalu Prasad is contesting the Saran Lok Sabha seat.

Earlier, a case was filed against Rabri Devi for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and state Janata Dal-United (JD-U) chief Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh at the same rally, an official said Monday.

The case was lodged at the Bheldi police station Sunday night by the district administration, Saran district magistrate B. Rajendar said.

Election Commissioner Navin Chawla, who is in Patna to review security preparations for the first phase of elections on April 16 when 13 constituencies in Bihar will go to polls, said the Election Commission will watch the CD of Rabri Devi’s remarks at the rally before taking any action.
