KABUL : An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member was killed and three others were wounded after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) hit their vehicle in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, the US-led coalition troops and the NATO-led ISAF had announced the death of two of their soldiers in separate incidents in the country. A fresh statement from ISAF headquarters here said: “This incident has claimed the life of an ISAF soldier who was fighting for a safe and secure Afghanistan.” Name and nationality of the soldier killed and exact location of the incident was not disclosed. However, local officials said the soldier killed in the blast was from Romania. They said the incident happened in Qalat, capital of Afghanistan’s southern province of Zabul. They said the blast injured five more soldiers. (end) gk.bz.
