“If we get the people’s mandate, we assure we will bring back the money horded in Swiss bank accounts and foreign banks and utilise it for all-round development of the country,” Advani told a gathering in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district.

“We will make sincere diplomatic and political efforts to bring back the money from foreign countries and use it for generating jobs and carrying out development schemes in India,” he added.

The BJP leader accused the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government of not taking appropriate measures to contain recession and inflation.

“Inflation and recession are the two biggest challenges before us and the UPA has woefully failed to counter them with its wrong policies.”

Advani also held the government responsible for a series of terror strikes in the country and the worsening internal security scenario.

“Today people feel insecure as the UPA government has considerably failed to check terror assaults in the country,” he said.

Referring to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, he said, “Our party will make all-out efforts to check corruption and crime in both the states.”

Reiterating his stand on the demand for separate state of Telangana to be carved out of Andhra Pradesh, Advani said: “If we come to power we will make Telangana a separate state.”
