Ranchi: A Maoist leader wanted in over a dozen criminal cases was arrested in Jharkhand’s Latehar district Monday, police said.
Praduman Sharma alias Kundanji alias Sudhansu Sharma, member of Bihar regional committee of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) was arrested Monday at Tori railway station of Lathear district, some 160 km from Ranchi.
Police said that on a tip-off they raided a passenger train in which Kundanji was travelling.
“It’s a big catch for us. He was wanted in more than a dozen criminal cases,” said a police official.
Police officials are trying to ascertain why Kundaji was in Jharkhand and will contact their Bihar counterparts regarding the Maoist leader.
