New Delhi: A 41-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband Sunday when an altercation turned violent and they attacked each other with a knife in their south Delhi home, police said.
Almanta, 45, a tea kiosk owner in Madangir area of south Delhi, had a fight with his wife Maria over some issue in the morning. The argument turned violent after Maria got a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband in the stomach, police said.
“Almanta snatched the knife from his wife and stabbed her repeatedl”, a police official said.
“Two minor sons of the couple who were sleeping on the first floor got up hearing their screams. When they reached downstairs, they saw both of them with knives and informed the neighbours. The couple were rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre where Maria was declared brought dead,” the police official added.
“Almanta’s condition is serious. We will record his statement when he recovers,” the police officer said.
