Two youth electrocuted in Bhopal

Bhopal: At least two teenaged boys were killed and four others injured Sunday when they came in contact with a high-tension electricity wire while returning from an Islamic congregation on the outskirts of the state capital, police said.

The youth, sitting on top of a bus, were returning after attending the three-day 62nd international Tablighi Ijtema (congregation) in Eitkhedi which ended with offering of prayers for the well being of community and the world.

“While two people died on spot, four others critically injured have been admitted to Hamidia hospital. Their condition is said to be critical,” police said.

Those killed have been identified as Saddam, 15, and Shoeb, 17, while the injured include Salim, 22, Arman, 15, Taufiq, 16, and Zubed, 12.

Over a million people and about 21,000 jamaats (group) from across India and more than 150 from other countries like Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, the UAE, Sri Lanka and even South Africa, participated in the congregation.
