Patna: “Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University soon will be a one of a kind University. Government is searching for an adequate place for the University where its magnificent campus will be built” said Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumr.
He was addressing a function on 143rd birth anniversary of Maulana Mazharul Haque which was also 11th anniversary of Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University’s foundation day held at its campus Bailey Road, Patna on 22nd December 2009.
“The University will be given full support by the state government and will be provided with all the essentials. Our government is bound to develop the education in the state and making all efforts in this regard but we know that the dream is yet far from us,” he added.
Vice Chancellor Professor Qamar Hasan threw a light on objectives behind the establishment of the University and future plans.
“University is running several professional courses including Business Management, Library Science and Journalism along with Madarsa higher education. Thus University is providing traditional and modern education to the poor students who are unable to bear the expenses of professional education” he said.
Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University was established in 1998 in the name of great freedom fighter Maulana Mazharul Haque in Patna by the Bihar Government. The academic activities started in 2006 and in 2008 classes have been started. Currently, around 2500 students are studying here in several courses.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman of Bihar Haj Committee, Maulana Anisur Rahman Qasmi praised the Chief Minister for his efforts in education field and appealed to give especial attention towards the University.
Chairman of Bihar Minority Commission, Naushad Ahmad, RJD MLA Akhtrul Aeman, LJP MLA Dr. Izhar Ahmad,MLA Tanweer Hassan, MLC Professor Aslam Azad, Secretary of Urdu Academy Shahzad Anwar and many other educationists, dignitaries as well as common and were present on the occasion.
