Gandhinagar : The first non-stop Duronto train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will be flagged off from the Maharashtra capital at 2 p.m. Thursday. It will begin the return journey the same night.
The 15-coach air-conditioned train, which will be flagged off by a veteran class-four employee, will have one First AC, two Second AC, four Third AC and five economy class Third AC coaches.
The third AC coach will have 64 berths, and the economy Third AC 78, said Ahmedabad divisional railway manager Ashok Garud.
He said the train will reach Ahmedabad at 8.40 p.m. on its inaugural run and leave the same day at 10.40 p.m.
Covering the distance between the two cities in 6.35 hours, the train will leave Ahmedabad Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and Mumbai Monday, Wednesday and Friday when regular services begin.
The departure from Ahmedabad will be at 11.40 p.m., with arrival in Mumbai around 6.15 a.m.. It will leave Mumbai at 11.15 p.m.
