Washington : The US Senate Thursday passed 60-39 a historic legislation for giving millions of Americans access to healthcare.
The legislation cleared a major hurdle in the US Senate earlier in the week, putting it on course for a final vote Thursday.
The scheme is now projected to cost some $1 trillion, and public opinion on the plan is still bitterly divided.
