New Delhi : Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, being treated for chest infection at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, has shown signs of improvement, doctors attending to him said Monday.
“Vajpayee continues to be in the Intensive Care Unit on a ventilator and is responding to treatment. He has shown signs of improvement,” AIIMS Medical Superintendent D.K. Sharma said.
The 84-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was admitted to hospital after he complained of difficulty in breathing and fever last Tuesday. He was put on mechanical ventilation Friday.
“He continues to be stable and the chest infection is under control,” Sharma added.
A team of doctors is regularly monitoring Vajpayee’s health and all his other parameters are also under control, the official said.
