AMU to establish Nursing College

New Delhi: The Aligarh Muslim University has decided to establish a nursing college in its Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.

Professor P K Abdul Azis, Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, said that Nursing College will be established in the Medical College, so that more students pursue nursing education. He was addressing the gathering during lighting of Lamp and Oath Ceremony of School of Nursing in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.

Professor Azis said the Central Government has sanctioned a sum of rupees 150 crore for upgrading and development of the Medical College. It is desirable that number of nursing students should also increase. AMU VC said facilities of Graduation, Post Graduation and Ph.D. will be made available in the College. He said that nurses have an important place in medical profession. They must serve patients with missionary zeal, so that name of the JN Medical College may get recognition.

Professor V K Abdul Jaleel, Registrar, Aligarh Muslim University said the development and expansion of the Medical College have begun and soon patients will get facilities like AIIMS here. He said to nursing staff to look after patients in a better way pleasing attitude.

Professor Ashraf Malik, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Principal and Chief Medical Officer, called upon the students of Nursing School to keep oath they have taken in heart and translate it into actions.
