A core committee of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) comprising senior leaders met Sunday evening and formulated a plan to identify and publicise various failures of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), especially in the rural areas of the state.

“The $240 billion investment claimed by the Narendra Modi government during the just concluded Vibrant Gujarat Summit was a farce and most of the land being promised to be allocated to the industrial units could be disputed,” GPCC president Siddharth Patel told reporters after the meeting.

Also, a roadmap was prepared for the district-level candidates to make campaigning effective, particularly in the rural pockets of the state. Booth committees for a total of 170 village blocks were formulated to manage campaign work in their regions.

During the campaign, the development initiatives taken up by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in the state to the tune of Rs.190 million would also be highlighted.
