UNRWA demands an investigation over shelling of Beit Lahiya School

CAIRO, Jan 19 (KUNA) — The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) demanded on Monday the investigation over the shelling of the Beit Lahiya School using Phosphoric bombs.

A report issued by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), distributed by the UN media center in Cairo, said that the Israeli existence in the northern areas, the eastern borders and the borders of Rafah continue.

The report added, UNRWA is operating 50 shelters that could contain 50,896 thousand Palestinians in Gaza, it is able to provide the necessary needs only, and therefore it calls for additional aid of food, and blankets for 23,000 Palestinians in shelters.

It added, hospitals suffer great pressure, due to the increasing numbers of injured, especially after the destruction of Al-Quds Hospital.

Palestinians in Gaza also suffer the lack of money, in addition to the increase of prices of goods since the launch of the Israeli aggression.
