Seminar on ‘Positive Politics to Total Empowerment’ in Bhopal

Bhopal: A regional seminar on “Positive Politics to Total Empowerment” is being held here on January 25 (Sunday) from 9.30 a. m. at Acharya Narendeo Library hall, Kamla Park, Bhopal.

The seminar is being jointly organized by Popular Front of India, (PFI), and local Muslim Coordination Committee. The seminar shall be presided over by Bhopal Shahar Qazi Janab Maulana Abdul Lateef Khan Qasmi Sahab.

E. M. Abdul Rahiman, chairman PFI, who hails from Kerala, will deliver the key-note address at the seminar. While E. Abubacker, former chairman and now Executive Council member PFI, shall deliver the inaugural address. Another PFI functionary vice chairman A. Sayeed will also express his views on the topic.

K. S. Dhillon, DGP (Retd.); B. K. Damle, Additional DGP (Retd.); Prof. Zamiruddin, a social activist, and Ajay Yadav, IAS (Retd.) will be the local speakers at the seminar.

This regional seminar is prelude to the National Political Conference at Calicut in Kerala on February 13, 14, 15, 2009 being organized by Popular Front of India. The objective of the conference is to create awareness about the right of the people to have political power and mobilise the marginlised classes towards positive politics for total empowerment.

Popular Front of India, with its headquarters at Bangalore, is a social movement with grass-root level network in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. However, a nationwide campaign is going on to introduce the theme of the National Political Conference. The national publicity programme also includes a series of public meetings and seminars in major towns in different states. Public programmes have been held in cities like Lilong (Manipur), Behrampur (West Bengal) and Kota (Rajasthan). Seminars or public meetings are scheduled to be held at Lucknow, Mumbai, Bhopal and Delhi in the coming days in this connection. State-wide campaigning is in full swing in four southern states.
