Brussels : The European Commission (EC), the executive body of the 27-member European Union, made a terse comment here Thursday on reports that India plans to take the EU to the World Trade Orgnaisation (WTO) over a case related to the seizure of Indian generic drugs in the Netherlands.
“I am afraid all I can say about this particular case is that we are aware of the comments made by the Indian government and we are looking into this particular case which has led to this comment,” EC trade spokesman Peter Power told reporters in Brussels today.
“Over and above that I am not in a position to go further,” he added in reply to a reporter’s question on the issue.
India media have reported that New Delhi is planning to take the EU to the WTO over the recent confiscation of a shipment of generic drugs manufactured by Dr Reddy Labs by Dutch authorities.
