Fifteen killed in fire in bar in China

Fuzhou (China) : Fifteen people were killed in a fireworks accident in Changle city in east China’s Fujian province, government said.

The accident occurred at 23.30 p.m. Saturday after people set off fireworks at a local bar during a birthday party. The ceiling of the bar caught fire, causing the tragedy, the police said.

The fire was put out at 0.20 a.m. Sunday.

The accident was reported as the Chinese were celebrating the Spring festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year, the most important traditional holiday in the country.
