“About ten rebels attacked the forest beat house at Sosenga revenue village, some 70 km from here (the district headquarters of Nuapada) late Saturday
night, and destroyed all the official records,” district Superintendent of Police Bibek Rath told IANS.

He said the Maoists broke the gate of the beat house to enter it. No official was present in the building at that time.

The Sunabeda sanctuary, which is close to the border with neighbouring Chhattisgarh state, spreads over 600 sq km.

Maoists last month attacked another forest office in the same sanctuary and burnt government records.
