Silverstone : India’s Karun Chandhok delivered his first podium of the season with a third place finish in the second race of the GP2 series here Sunday.
The Chennai-born Chandhok, driving for Ocean Racing Technology team, had the advantage of starting the second race from third position on the reversed grid and maintained his slot through the race that ended behind the safety car to cross the finish line behind Pastor Maldonado and Andreas Zuber.
Chandhok, Saturday had qualified 11th, finished sixth in the first race to pick up three championship points and thus gained a second-row slot on the reversed grid for Sunday’s outing.
Chandhok is currently placed 11th on the leaderboard with an aggregate of nine points after four rounds.
