Havana, March 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban leader Fidel Castro rejected media reports that his close associates in the government have been replaced by younger brother President Raul Castro’s men.
The Cuban leader said several media organisations have been spreading rumours about a replacement of “Fidel’s men with Raul’s men”, which is incorrect.
“Most of the officials who have been replaced were never proposed by me. They were selected by the state leadership, and I never devoted myself to that job,” he said.
“The new ministers who have just been appointed were consulted with me, even though there is no rule saying that the people doing the proposing should do so, since I gave up the prerogatives of power a while ago,” he added.
No injustice of any kind has been committed, Castro said.
In February last year, Fidel Castro’s younger brother Raul Castro was inaugurated as Cuban president.
