Toronto : Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon has cancelled his visit to India beginning Friday.
Cannon was supposed to open the new Canadian trade office in Kolkata and meet Indian leaders, including External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi.
Though no reasons have given officially for the cancellation of the visit yet, official sources said the ongoing election process in India was the reason for Cannon not going ahead with the visit.
He would have been the fifth Canadian cabinet minister to visit India since January this year.
