Tehran : Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hossein Saffar Harandi on Monday issued a message of condolence on the passing away of the spouse of the father of Islamic Revolution and founder of the Islamic Republic the late Imam Khomeini.
The message condoled Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khameini, the bereaved family of the late Imam Khomeini, and the Iranian nation on the great loss.
Earlier, Expediency Council Chief Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, and a group of revolutionary organs, had issued similar messages on the passing away of the late Khadije Saghafi.
In his message, Rafsanjani described the deceased lady as the closest and most patient supporter of the Late Imam in his struggle against the tyrannical Pahlavi regime.
Mrs Saghafi passed away in Tehran Saturday morning after a long period of illness.
The funeral service for the deceased lady, was held in Tehran Sunday morning.
The lady’s body was carried from Tehran University to Enqelab Square to be laid in rest at the mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini.
